Richard Parker
British Triathlon Coach, Swim England Open Water Coach
Rich is a Level III British Triathlon Coach and has been coaching Swimming and Triathlon for 10 years. A competitive swimmer and lifeguard in his youth, he started competing in Triathlon and Open Water events in 2012. With a BSc in Biology and former careers as a Manager and Environmental Scientist Rich has a broad experience of coaching people from a wide variety of backgrounds.
Rich started his coaching journey when his youngest son joined the local Triathlon Club in 2015. He began as a parent helper but progressed onto British Triathlon Level I and then Level II. Eventually, in May 2023, he qualified as a High-Performance Coach (Level III). Rich is also a British Cycling Level I Coach and a Swim England Level II Open Water Coach. His proudest athletic swimming achievements include a solo Lake Windermere (18 km) swim, which took 5 hours and 20 minutes, and being part of a Channel Relay Team in 2022. The team was awarded the Fastest Mixed Team Award by the Channel Swimming Association.
Matt Mew
Matt is a Swim England Level 1 Coach. As a lifelong swimmer himself, Matt was a national age group athlete and now competes in masters swimming. He has a range of experience including pool swimming, open water and triathlon.
His proudest sporting achievements are:
- Swimming sub 60s in the 100m Backstroke
- Winning a Bronze medal at the National Masters Championships
- Swimming the length of Lake Windermere
- Completing a 3-man Channel Relay
- Finishing Ironman Wales
Outside of sport, Matt also holds a MEng in Engineering Design and runs a manufacturing business.
Steve Crowley
Level II British Triathlon Coach
Steve is an accomplished Para-Triathlete and was selected for the Tokyo Olympic Games 2020. He was unable to compete due to a health issue which led to a revaluation and his interest in coaching others to reach their potential.
